Specialist Languages program

French
German
Japanese

The school specialises in foreign languages with students being able to study Japanese, French and German from Year 8 to Year 12 level. Each language participates in an exchange program where the students get to visit the country of their target language.

From 2002, language study became compulsory in Years 8 & 9. Students continue the same language for two years and are streamed into classes of similar ability in Year 9. Studying a language in Year 10 is optional and the smaller classes prepare students for the rigours of upper school study and assessment.

In upper school, each language is offered as a TEE subject and Beginners French and Japanese are offered in Year 11 and Year 12, if there is sufficient demand.
