Selective Academic Program
JAMES BARCLAY:
"The program has given me an excellent foundation for senior school courses. Now, being in Year 11 it is obvious the advantages I had as an ATP student. My ATP friends who are aiming to be lawyers, doctors, chemists, and musicians will be close friends after I leave school.
Our teachers have expanded our knowledge beyond mainstream expectations. They are more leaders and friends than teachers.
I believe there is no program in private schools that even comes close to that of ATP."
CHRISTINE OORSCHOT:
"Being part of ATP has given us great advantages. Fellow students who are committed and creative provide an inspiration to think of different ways of working through learning activities. While we work at a faster rate we are no different to other students - we enjoy our social life and love to laugh and have fun!
Through ATP I have visited universities and have researched engeineering courses. I am now aiming to study mechatronic (engineering). ATP has helped me be in a position where I can achieve my dream.
I believe that simply having the title Academic Talent Program student has given me opportunities outside the school. I highly recommend the ATP program to all who ask me about it."
About THE SELECTIVE ACADEMIC PROGRAM
Students in this innovative program are encouraged to excel in their area of academic talent. They are regularly challenged as a result of extended and enriched learning opportunities in the Mathematics / Science and Humanities learning areas. Students increasingly take on the responsibility for their own learning. Time is provided for students to explore problems or issues in much greater depth. Students are provided with skills to communicate conclusions more effectively.
Through the SAP program students devlop close friendships with like minded gifted pupils. Beyond school networks develop with high achieving professionals which links school experience with important life long contacts. Former SAP students are currently well represented in the fields of Medicine, Law, Engineering and Business Management.
