School Council and Board

Overview

The school council consists of those student representatives, teachers, parents and citizens who join by registering as members at the Annual General Meeting of the council in March of each year, or who register with any of the School Board's registered sub-committees as special interest groups.

The council holds meetings at least twice per year, one of these being the Annual General Meeting. The objects of the council, in cooperation with the Department of Education and the school administration, are to promote the moral, physical, social and educational welfare of the community comprising the Kelmscott Senior High School. The executive of the council is the School Board, which reports to the council not less than twice per year, including the Annual General Meeting.

Board members and office bearers are elected at the Annual General Meeting. All parents and staff are encouraged to attend this meeting, as it provides an opportunity to experience at first hand the ideals and policies behind our school.

Meetings

Board meetings are held monthly on the second Thursday of each month at 6:00 pm throughout the school year. Many improvements and contributions have been made to the school through the positive energy of this group of interested people.
